Pharmacy 1 and Best Pave the Way for Sustainable Healthcare Logistics
Pharmacy 1 and Best have launched a joint sustainability initiative within the healthcare sector. Through a new collaboration, the companies are now launching electric GDP transport, becoming the first in Norway to offer emission-free distribution of medicines.
Although electric vehicles have become an increasingly common part of society, the combination of electric vehicles and transport according to GDP standards (Good Distribution Practice) has been missing - until now. Pharmacy 1 and Best are now launching a joint initiative for electric GDP distribution, a solution that not only meets all requirements for reliable and quality-assured pharmaceutical transport but also meets high environmental goals.
"We are proud to combine environmentally friendly technology with safety and quality. Through our collaboration with Best, we can ensure that our medicines are transported safely whilst reducing our climate impact," says Mai-Bente Lind-Paulsen, PR and Communications Manager at Pharmacy 1.
Stable Temperature - A Crucial Factor for Pharmaceutical Transport Pharmaceutical distribution requires a stable temperature in the cargo space to ensure that medicines are not affected during transport. Best is the market leader in Sweden for GDP transport and daily conducts thousands of temperature-regulated deliveries across the country for both private and public healthcare operators as well as pharmaceutical distributors. The company is now focusing on establishing a national GDP network in Norway with electric-powered vehicles.
"We are proud to offer a solution that improves both the environment and the quality of pharmaceutical transport. Our electric vehicles are equipped with modern temperature sensors and IT solutions, and we have full control of every delivery. Launching the future of GDP distribution together with Pharmacy 1 feels both important and rewarding," says Maria Andersson, Group CEO at Best.
Together, Pharmacy 1 and Best are setting a new standard for sustainable healthcare logistics in Norway. The launch demonstrates how the companies are jointly taking responsibility for sustainability - without compromising the security that patients and the healthcare sector depend on.
